2010 June 29 ASB Oil & Vinegar Tasting
Olive culture has ancient roots. Homer called it "liquid gold." In ancient Greece, athletes ritually rubbed it all over their bodies. Its mystical glow illuminated history. Drops of it seeped into the bones of dead saints and martyrs through holes in their tombs…
The ancients were quick to find the remarkable versatility of vinegar. Around 5,000 BC, the Babylonians used it as a preservative and as a condiment, and it was they who began flavoring it with herbs and spices…
But how do you pick a good vinegar or oil?
Join us at Vom Fass to explore first hand the diverse world of these ancient condiments that remain an everyday custom. How? By tasting them of course!
Experts Carlos & Philippe will guide us through the tasting experience of a variety of vinegars and oils in their cute little shop in Gracia. The tasting will be accompanied by a small selection of snacks and water.
